Athenaeum 2026-27: Auto-Draft Payments

Athenaeum (ath-uh-nay-uhm):

The word Athenaeum (ath-uh-nay-uhm) comes from the school in Rome, founded by Emperor Hadrian in 133 A.D., that was designed to promote literacy and scientific studies. The purpose of the Great Hearts Athenaeum After-School Program is also to promote learning by providing our students with dedicated homework time in addition to a variety of culturally enriching, hands-on activities in a safe and supportive after-school setting

About the Athenaeum After-School Program

ALL scholar registrations must be purchased in the same single transaction to receive the sibling discount.

Note: Great Hearts does not prorate monthly Athenaeum fees

Students MAY NOT start on the same day of registration. A 24-hour notice is required.

Program Hours: The program is available all days school is in operation from dismissal until 6:00 PM. Hours vary per registration options (see chart above for more detail). Athenaeum includes all early release days. Pickup is as early as you wish, but no later than 6:00 PM.

Athenaeum is not available on no-school days or school breaks (i.e. Winter Break, Spring Break, etc.).

Grades Served: The program is open to all students in Grades K-5th.

What We Offer:

It’s more than just “after-care.” It’s After-School Athenaeum.

While our programs are available after school until 6:00 PM, we are not simply an “after-care” program. In addition to daily supervised homework time, free-play with friends, and time for snack (snack not provided), our program features unique, high-quality, culturally enriching activities that complement our mission as a classical, liberal arts institution. Activities might include dance, soccer, painting, yoga, creative writing, martial arts, speech and drama, science activities, ceramics, illustration, architecture, gardening, music, and that is just the beginning! Our goal is to provide an exciting, engaging, and enriching program for all scholars. All activities are included in the regular tuition and are at no additional cost to you. Any special events scheduled will be detailed on the monthly activity calendar.

Automatic Billing

All Athenaeum options are recurring and billed automatically on the first of each month of the 2026-27 school year.

Recurring Billing

When you enroll in Athenaeum, your credit card on file will be charged automatically on the 1st of each month. A request for withdrawal from the program or a down-grading of options must be made in writing by the 20th of the month prior to the desired change.

Option A - Up to five days per week until 6:00pm

Option B - Up to five days per week until 5:00pm

Option C - Up to three days per week until 6:00pm
